Upgrading the Login Assistant (SKA) software

Login Assistant can be upgraded in two ways:

Note

It is currently not possible to upgrade Login Assistant from 12.4.x and below to the current version. In this case you must uninstall the previous version of Login Assistant and then install Login Assistant for the current version.

See Login Assistant compatibility for information about compatibility of Bravura Security Fabric and Login Assistant (SKA) versions.

Upgrading Login Assistant from 12.5.x to 12.8.1 and up using VPN test page options

When upgrading Login Assistant from 12.5.0 - 12.8.0 and then to 12.8.1 and up, and when the VPN test page URL and VPN test page search words configuration options are used for the Login Assistant, the following steps must be performed before running the upgrade for ska-x64.msi:

  1. Open the registry editor using regedit.exe.

  2. Browse to this location in the registry:

    • Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bravura Security\Bravura Security Fabric\Login Assistant\VPN

  3. Add two new registry entries for the following:

    • Value name: vpn-url

    • Value name: vpn-url-search

      • type: String Value

      • Value data: see notes below

The values to use for vpn-url and vpn-url-search in the registry can be found from the following locations:

  • VPN_URL option for the ska-x64-msi command line

  • VPN_URL_SEARCH option for the ska-x64-msi command line

  • The values can also be found for the -vpnurl and -vpnurlsearch options in the cmd registry entry, located here:

    • Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bravura Security\Bravura Security Fabric\Login Assistant\Login Assistant

Populating these values for vpn-url and vpn-url-search will allow the cmd registry to be reconstructed properly for the -vpnurl and -vpnurlsearch options during the upgrade for the Login Assistant.
