Compatibility between Login Assistant 12.8.x and earlier with instances 12.9.1 and later
When Login Assistant 12.9.1 or later is installed, the URL in the registry includes the EPHEMERALCOOKIE=1 option, in the following format: https://<server>/<instance>/?EPHEMERALCOOKIE=1.
For Login Assistant 12.8.x and earlier, the URL format does not include this option: https://<server>/<instance>/
If you use a Bravura Security Fabric instance from 12.9.1 or later with Login Assistant from an earlier version, you need to either:
Upgrade Login Assistant on the workstations to the later version.
Manually update the URL in the registry to include the new option, if leaving the earlier version of Login Assistant in place.
Update the URL in the following registry locations:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bravura Security\Bravura Security Fabric\Login Assistant\Credential Provider\WebBrowserURL
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bravura Security\Bravura Security Fabric\Login Assistant\Login Assistant\cmd
Change the URL from this format: https://<server>/<instance>/ to this format: https://<server>/<instance>/?EPHEMERALCOOKIE=1.
Internet Explorer incompatibilities for Login Assistant 12.4.x and earlier
Login Assistant 12.4.x and earlier no longer functions because Internet Explorer has reached end of support. When attempting to use these versions, you see messages and behaviors such as the following:
"This website works better in Microsoft Edge" in the browser window.
"Support for Internet Explorer ended on June 15, 2022" in the browser window.
Several JavaScript error prompts may appear.
More information: Microsoft end of support for Internet Explorer.
Login Assistant 12.4.x and earlier uses Internet Explorer components for the locked-down SKA browser window. Login Assistant 12.5.0 and later replaces these with Microsoft Edge WebView2 technologies.
Uninstall Login Assistant 12.4.x or earlier from workstations and replace it with Login Assistant 12.5.x or later, or with the latest version available.
Login Assistant and the local reset extensions
Issues can occur when using Login Assistant with the Credential Provider tile. When resetting the cached credentials from the locked-down SKA browser window, the credentials may not reset, and the "Install Chrome extension" link may not be clickable.
For example, this can occur with versions such as the following (but not limited to):
Login Assistant from 12.4.x or higher, and Bravura Security Fabric is 12.3.x or earlier.
Login Assistant from 12.7.x or higher, and Bravura Security Fabric is 12.4.x or earlier.
In these cases, an update may be needed for pluginCtrl.js for Bravura Security Fabric to allow the cached credentials to reset correctly. Contact support@bravurasecurity.com for further information.
