Search your safe

Use the Search tool to quickly find items.

  • Perform a basic search using any Bravura Safe application.

  • Perform a full-text search using the web interface, desktop apps and browser extensions.

    Note

Search results are limited by any filters selected before searching; for example, if a safe, type, folder and/or collection filter is selected, only items within the specified filters will be searched.

Basic search

Used by Bravura Safe mobile apps. The following safe item fields are searched:

  • Item Name

  • Login item Username

  • Login item URL

  • Card Brand or last four digits of the Number

  • Identity Name

    Note

Basic searches automatically include leading and trailing wildcards.

Full-text search

  • Used by Bravura Safe web interface, desktop apps, and browser extensions.

  • Automatically includes leading and trailing wildcards.

  • When no results are returned via full-text search, basic search is used.

Fields searched for every item:

  • shortid: First eight characters of the item ID.

  • organizationid: ID of the item's Team (if it belongs to one).

  • name: Item designated Name.

  • subtitle: Depending on item type; login Username, card Brand or last four digits of the Number, or identity Name.

  • notes: Item Notes. Only full-word matches will be listed unless you use wildcards.

  • fields: Name or value. Only Text type field values are included.

  • attachments: Name of the attached file.

  • login.username: Login item Username.

  • login.uris: Login item URL hostname value.

Searching specific fields

Search for data in specific fields by starting a search query with the "greater than" (>) character and indicating a field (above). For example:

  • >login.username:hpotter will search for login items with hpotter as the Username.

  • >name:Royal Bank will search for any safe items with Royal Bank specified as the Name.

  • >fields:QAnswer will search for any safe items with a custom text field with the Name QAnswer.

If no field indicator is present, all indexed fields will be searched.

Wildcards and advanced search parameters

When searching specific fields, use the asterisk (*) as a wildcard character for specified search values. For example:

>login.username:*@company.com will search for any login item Username that ends in @company.com.
