Preparation
Before you can target JIRA Server, you must:
Set up a target system administrator
Create at least one template account
Setting up a target system administrator
Bravura Security Fabric uses a designated account on JIRA Server to perform Bravura Security Fabric operations. The account must have JIRA Administrators or JIRA System Administrators global permission. Ensure that you set and note the account’s password. You will be required to enter the account and password when you add the target system to Bravura Security Fabric .
Creating a template account
Bravura Security Fabric uses template accounts as models or "blueprints" for creating new accounts in JIRA Server. The following example illustrates how you can create a template account in JIRA Server:
You should be logged in to JIRA as an administrator.
Navigate to the User Management screen.
Click on Invite users button to invite users to JIRA or click on Create user button to create a new user.
Targeting the JIRA Server system
For each JIRA Server system, add a target system in Bravura Security Fabric (Manage the System > Resources > Target systems):
Type is JIRA Server, listed under Help Desk Systems.
Address uses the following options:
Option | Description |
|---|---|
Options marked with a | |
Server | The JIRA server’s host name or IP address. (key: server) |
Port | The TCP port number, typically 8080. (key: port) |
Connection over SSL | Select to enforce SSL connections. Default is "true". (key: ssl) |
Validate the server’s certificate when connecting | Determines whether to validate the server’s security certificate for SSL connections. Default is "true". (key: checkCert) |
HTTP Network Proxy | (Optional) Proxy URL to use for connecting. (key: proxy) |
The address is entered as follows:
{server="<JIRA server host name or IP>";port=<JIRA server port>/[;ssl=false;]/[checkCert=false;]/[proxy=<Network proxy>;]}
The full list of target parameters is explained in Target System Options .
Handling account attributes
You can view the complete list of attributes that Bravura Security Fabric can manage, including native and pseudo-attributes, using the Manage the system (PSA) module. To do this, select JIRA Server from the Manage the system > Resources > Account attributes > Target system type menu.
For information about the native JIRA Server attributes managed by Bravura Security Fabric , consult your JIRA Server documentation.
