Item placement (access) considerations

To determine where an item should be placed within Bravura Safe, consider the following questions:

  1. Does the item need to be shared with others?

If it does, a Team may be a good place for your item. For example:

You want to share a login credential for a customer environment with a colleague on your project team. You have a "Customer credentials" Team where individual Collections exist for each customer. You could add the login credential to an existing or new Collection and invite your colleague to be part of that Team and Collection.

  2. Is the item personal to you?

Is this an account that is tied to your username or identity?

Items tied to your identity should be placed in your personal safe. For example:

Jane has a login credential for a corporate subscription platform with administrator privileges. If someone else were to use her account, an auditor would identify Jane as the person who logged in since the account is linked to her identity. In this case, Jane should place the login credential as an item in a folder not shared with others.

  3. Does the item need to be shared more than once?

If the request for access is a one-off or for a short term, it may make sense to share the item using a Bravura Safe Share . For example:

The head of the finance department has access to corporate credit card information and a colleague wants to make a one-time purchase on behalf of the business. To share the credit card information using a secure method, you can use Bravura Safe Share . For added security, Shares can be further restricted by configuring a deletion/expiry date, a maximum access count or a password requirement for access. See Create a Share for Share configuration options.
