Monitoring database server health
It is recommended to monitor the database server disk space, using Bravura Security Fabric ’s health check feature or an alternative.
The auto discovery process replaces the entire data in some large tables whenever it is scheduled; that can lead to very large transaction and/or temp files showing up overnight.
The data, transaction and log file locations of every Bravura Security Fabric node’s backend database have to be monitored so they don’t run out of space:
If the database engine is configured to clean up, the files could be much smaller when inspected after the clean-up.
Ensure that you have at least 50% free space on the drives, shares or SAN’s that host those files. This ensures that the database always has enough space to function as expected. Bravura Security recommends at least 500gb of hard drive storage for a Bravura Security Fabric server to start with, split between a partition for the data files and a different one for the transaction log. Monitor the free space available over time on both, and provision more space whenever you see that %free drops under 20% on either partition at any time..
Monitor RAM availability and investigate any services , operating system utilities, other applications or the operating system kernel that maybe leaking or collecting RAM over time.
