Performance limitations

Users requesting privileged access to accounts via the Privileged Access app may experience slowness when loading managed accounts. This is particularly noticeable for users who are members of a large number of teams. The delay is caused by the time taken for the search filter criteria to calculate and determine which managed accounts to display. Consequently, users may face longer load times for the managed account list to appear.

To minimize performance issues, it is recommended that users refrain from being members of more than 100 teams, although this may be unavoidable. To mitigate these issues, consider implementing the following strategies:

  • Refrain from assigning users both the 'Requesters' and 'OTP Trustees' privileges simultaneously, as this increases the complexity of the search filter criteria.

  • Include the user in the PAM_TRUSTEE_HELP_DESK user class , which simplifies the filtering process and can significantly improve loading times. However, be aware of the following implications:

    • This grants users visibility into managed accounts across all teams, but access requests will still require approval from a team approver unless the user has ‘Auto Approved' privileges.

    • It enables users to access and submit predefined trustee-related requests, which will still require approval from a trustee.
