Preparation
Before you can target FrontRange HEAT for Administrators, you must:
Install FrontRange HEAT client software.
Set up a target system administrator.
Set up at lease one template account.
Installing client software
To install the minimum client software for FrontRange HEAT for administrators:
Run HEAT setup, select to install "Incident Logging".
Ensure that the HEAT API files are in the path (typically found in c:\Program Files\HEAT). Reboot the Bravura Security Fabric server if you have just added this to your system path.
Create an ODBC System DSN entry pointing to your HEAT server and ensure that you can successfully connect to it.
Ensure that you are able to connect to the server:
Select your configured ODBC datasource.
Enter your SQL credentials.
Confirm that you want to "Automatically use this database User ID and Password in the future".
Test the connection.
Setting up a target system administrator
Bravura Security Fabric uses administrative credentials that can authenticate against the FrontRange HEAT Database to perform Bravura Security Fabric operations.
Creating a template account
Bravura Security Fabric uses template accounts as models or "blueprints" for creating new accounts in FrontRange HEAT for Administrators. To set up a template account for a HEAT Administrator:

Under System Security, click Edit Users.
Click Add.
Under the General tab, fill in the information as appropriate. For Security Role, and select Administrator.
