Authentication priority list
Bravura Security Fabric uses the authentication priority list to determine:
Which target systems are trusted systems.
Only target systems that have been added to the authentication priority list are trusted and can be used to validate users’ passwords.
The order in which to attempt to validate a password on target systems.
Each target system in the authentication priority list is assigned a ranking value depending on their placement in the list. By default, Bravura Security Fabric first attempts to validate a user’s password against the highest-ranked target system on which the user has an account.
The number of target systems on which to attempt to validate a password is determined by the NUM HOSTS VERIFY setting. The default is one.
This is explained in greater detail in Configuring password authentication .
When you add your first target system, if the Allow users to verify passwords setting is enabled, the target system is automatically added to the authentication priority list. You must manually add additional target systems if required.
Click below to view a demonstration of adding a second target system to authenticate against and then setting the target system authentication order.
Set the target system authentication order
To set up the authentication priority list:
Ensure that your target systems are set up to verify passwords.
That is, ensure the Allow users to verify passwords checkbox is selected on each applicable targets’ page (default).
Click Manage the system > Policies > Authentication priority.
If necessary, search to narrow the list of target systems.
Drag and drop one of the double direction arrows in the Target system description field to change the target systems’ order in the list.
Click Update.
You can also configure this list by entering a colon-separated list in the AUTH HOST LIST variable in the Manage the system > Maintenance > System variables menu.
