Preparation

Before you can target Okta, you must:

Setting up a target system administrator

Bravura Security Fabric uses a designated account on Okta to perform Bravura Security Fabric operations. Create an account with appropriate permissions if one does not already exist.

Follow the instructions from the Okta Getting a Token page at https://developer.okta.com/docs/guides/create-an-api-token/overview/ to generate an OktaAPI Token and to ensure that you produce an API Token with the privilege level that is sufficient to perform the desired operations.

OAuth2 bearer tokens are being considered but not yet implemented as of CP 4.6.x.

Creating a template account

Bravura Security Fabric uses template accounts as models or "blueprints" for creating new accounts in Okta. The following example illustrates how you can create a template account in Okta:

  1. Login to the Okta administrative web site.

  2. Click Directory.

  3. Click People.

  4. Click Add Person.

  5. Enter a value for First name and Last name.

  6. Enter an email address for Username. This automatically fills in the same address for Primary email.

  7. Click Save.
